Io penso sei registrati in Norwegia per tui lavore, no?
Que fai in Oslo Fulvio? insuppare biscottino??

Then you will have to wait for a loooooong time.... I don't think the taxes will be reduced for some time. We ain't members of the EU, and the goverment just loves to raise the taxes. If I where you, I would buy a used Niva, anything else would be waste of money...

Good luck!

If you are going to use your car in Norway, you should pay the import fees and registration. The norwegian customs department will not be happy if they figure out that you live in Norway, but drive a car with swedish identification plates.

Sounds like this is according to swedish regulations, and will not apply for import to Norway. Different sides of the border, man! And we're on the wrong side getting screwed!

Hauge:

Perhaps you were a little sloppy with your calculations in your post? According to my calculations, a 2006 4-seat Lada Niva will cost "only" 195.000 kroner, not about 232.000 kroner as you said:)

I think it's important to be exact on the input values in the import calculator to get the price right. As an example, the displacement is not 1700cm3, but 1690 cm3.

By, the way (you probably know this?) it involves a quite great deal of work to convert it into varebil. The rear seats has to be removed, and you have to install a wall right behind the front seats. In addition to this, the roof of the car has to be chopped off and you must install a quite ugly looking glass fiber top, to increase the volume of the luggage room in order to get it approved as "varebil".

The parts needed for the "varebil" conversion, could be bought from the scrapyard, you just have to find a "varebil" version of a Niva, and prepare yourself for some work...smile.gif

I guess you are going to have to convert it into "varebil" yourself, before you import it to Norway. I think that Niva's sold in Sweden are 4 seat versions only.

It will cost aprox. 132 000 to import it to Norway as "Varebil", add another 100 000 if you want to put in back seats.

Well.. being a Swede maybe I can make some guesses what it means. "Kan registreras som lastbil: JA" means that according to Swedish tax regulations a Niva (with some modifications) can be registred as "Lätt lastbil" which I think is "Varevagn" in Norwegian? A light truck, max 3,5 ton, max 3 seats in front, a decent cargo area and a wall or steel net to keep cargo coming into the drivers cab. Being registred as "Lätt lastbil" gives some benfits in tax aspect.. nothing astronomical and it's under constant debate.
