<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Sorry Carlos these gears will fit :-
- Gen 1 (2.6 & 3.0 V6 5sp + auto's)
- Gen 2 (3.0 V6 5sp + auto's)
- Monty Sports (5sp only)
- Any other Mitsi t/case with 1.944 or 1.925:1.
They won't fit the 3.5 V6 or Monty Sport auto's as these have the larger 1.90:1 t/case.
Perhaps later on if the demand is there

Here's how it all works -

Diff gears (must be in both front and rear to work properly in AWD and 4WD) affect how the truck drives all the time. You can use ratio's to figure out how the truck will drive with new gears and larger tires, i.e. 31" old tires/35" new tires X 4.272 diff ratio = 3.784 effective diff ratio. In other words, the truck would drive the same as if it had stock tires and 3.784 gears in the differentials. Changing to 4.90 gears would restore the gearing to - 31"/35" X 4.90 = 4.34 or just a little better than it was with the stock tires and the 4.272 diff gears.

Tcase gears only affect how the truck drives in 4 wheel drive, low range, i.e. crawling. You can figure out the overall gear reduction by multiplying 1st gear in the transmission, the Tcase low range gear, and the diff gears. In a stock truck with a 5 speed, this would be 3.918 x 1.925 x 4.625 = 34.88 to 1. In other words, for 1 turn of the output shaft, you would have to turn the input shaft 34.88 times. If you add in the distance the tire travels for 1 revoulution, you can figure out how fast you will go with the engine idling. As an example - 750 RPM/ 34.88 crawl ratio = 21.5 RPM at the wheels. A 33" tire has a circumference of 103.7", so 21.5 RPM X 103.7" = 2228.9 inches per minute or 2.11 MPH. If you changed diff gears to 4.875 (for the Gen 2 w/ 3.0), the crawl speed changes to 2.0 MPH at 750 RPM. Changing Tcase gears from 1.925 to 2.85 changes the crawl speed to 1.42 MPH and changing both diffs and Tcase gears gives a crawl speed of 1.35 MPH. As you can see, changing Tcase gears has a big effect on crawling.

As far as your Gen 2.5 goes, it's hard to calculate exactly what the crawl ratio is because of the torque converter in the automatic transmission. You get some torque multiplication like an extra gear reduction, but it's variable. Some people here say you can't figure it in and others say it's about equivalent to an extra 2 to 1 gear reduction. I'm not sure what your first gear is, but assuming it's the same as the 3.0 V6, and ignoring the torque converter, your crawl ratio would be 3.918 x 1.90 x 4.272 = 31.8. And with 35" tires, your speed at 750 RPM would be 2.5 MPH.

Men who know`s..
