Counterbattery radarforklaring:
Simply put, the radar puts up a search fence which first detects incoming rounds and then backtracks to the origin or these rounds (mostly based on trajectory). This location is plotted, given to the fire direction center for computation of gun data, sent to the guns, then the target is fired upon. There are a few factors to consider in all of this though: directional orientation of the radar, type of terrain, types of rounds coming in, types of rounds to respond with etc. If everything goes well and everyone involved is well trained and has the counterfire drill down, an overwhelming and devastating response can be out in a very short time.
