Hi Stan, we are ever so often discussing different types and brands of winches. So, what failed on your winch and why ? What type would you use next time for your extreme usage ?
I wanted a winch that would work for long periods of time, so I use a Hydraulic Winch from MileMarker. I do not know what went wrong. It works some times and then it stops or suddenly lets the rope spool out. You can see in the Top Truck Challenge Video at the Tank Trap, that I hooked up the winch and it started to pull and then it suddenly let out about a meter of line.... Bad Thing. ...So in the Last competition, the Tank Trap, I got to about 30 meters of the finish line with out the winch. I know we could have done very well if it would have worked.
It works now, but still it stops wroking every once in a while.
