Startproblemer 6,5TD (periodevis fusking på tomgang.)
#9
SSDiesel Supply og Rockauto lister den for alle modell år 92-99(2000). Ett lite google søk gir treff på både 96-97 og 98 modeller med OPS feil. Fra thedieselstop forumet ang symptomer:

The OPS (<a class="" href="http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=oil+pressure+switch" title="Link added by VigLink">oil pressure switch</a>) sends power to the <a class="" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=automotive&keywords=fuel%2Blift%2Bpump&linkCode=ur2" title="Link added by VigLink">fuel lift pump</a> that is mounted on the driver's side fram rail underneath the cab. When the OPS fails, the lift pump stops operating, causing hard starts, stalling, and poor acceleration. You can check the fuel pump itself by placing the transmission in drive, and turning the key to 'start.' This will not engage the starter, but will engage the fuel pump. You should be able to hear it. Then go ahead and start the engine and place your hand on the fuel pump...you should be able to feel it operating. If not, leave the engine running, and then open the <a class="" href="http://stat.dealtime.com/DealFrame/DealFrame.cmp?bm=271&BEFID=96477&acode=282&code=282&aon=&crawler_id=1932216&dealId=VE8X81_Ap1KWFxZ7FFk08A%3D%3D&searchID=&url=http%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F1%2F711-57618-1854-0%2F2%3Fkwid%3D1%26mtid%3D570%26crlp%3D1_240251%26linkin_id%3D%7Blinkin_id%7D%26sortbid%3D%7Bbidamount%7D%26fitem%3D350793896224%26mt_id%3D570%26mpre%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.com%252Fitm%252Flike%252F350793896224%26mid%3D503280%26sdc_id%3D%7Bsdc_id%7D&DealName=Audi%20Vw%202.0l%20%2805-09%29%20Fuel%20Pump%20Bleed%20Valve%20Genuine%20Gas%20Pegtrol%20Pumper%20Bleeder&MerchantID=503280&HasLink=yes&category=0&AR=-1&NG=1&GR=1&ND=1&PN=1&RR=-1&ST=&MN=msnFeed&FPT=SDCF&NDS=1&NMS=1&NDP=1&MRS=&PD=0&brnId=2455&lnkId=8070676&Issdt=150211050416&IsFtr=0&IsSmart=0&dlprc=30.9&SKU=350793896224" title="Link added by VigLink">fuel bleeder valve</a> at the front of the engine. The engine should stay running and fuel should be squirting out the drain hose. If the engine dies, the lift pump is not working. Replace the OPS.

There are mods available to prevent this from occuring again (common problem on the <a class="" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=automotive&keywords=chevy%2Btrucks&linkCode=ur2" title="Link added by VigLink">Chevy trucks</a>). I suggest www.thedieselpage.com for more information.

Another problem associated with the OPS is that the lift pump is supposed to send fuel through the IP and back to the tank, helping to cool the IP and the FSD= fuel solenoid driver, the little black box mounted on the driver's side of the IP. This is basically the brain of the electronic IP. If the lift pump has been non-functioning for some time, it can cause an early death for the FSD.

I had to replace the OPS and FSD on my '95 when I bought it. I upgraded the OPS with an aftermarket relay harness, and relocated the new FSD to a heatsink mounted off the engine. Now it's very reliable.
