Howdy.
I'm wrestling with the rules for the Scandinavian Open Trial 2004 (aka. Nordic Trial). Swedes said that why not use 2002 Euro Trial technical rules that are found at www.eurotrial.no
Well why not I thought....but some changes needs to be made for those. We are not going to drive Special (or is it called Full Size now?). Instead we think to drive these classes:
Original
Standard
Modified
Classic
Prototype
Driving rules are going to go by Finnish 2004 rule book.
Where can I find your Classic rules? Is there any drivers planning to come to drive in Classic? Shortly I think your Classic rules are:
Frame: free, but not steering or possibility to change wheelbase
Body: Needs to be regogniced easily as a series built 4x4 or passenger car
Suspension: free, but not adjustable during driving
Engine: free, no nitrous
Transmission: free
Axles: You allow to have portal axles? No independent suspension axles.
Brakes: need to work at each wheel, turning brakes are ok? Need to have emergancy brake.
Tyres: Your max height is 40"...right?? Do you allow tractor or knob tyres?
What else... full roll cage ofcourse, racing seats and at least 4 point harness, engine and interior separated with a fire wall etc.
What else you have in Classic?
Damn why don't Scandinavian Off Roaders have one big Bulletin Board where everyone comes and reads. This rule discussion would be so easy to go trough there.
